Journey: A Group Art Show and Fundraiser
Oceanside, CA – The Hill Street Country Club and The Encinitas Education Foundation is pleased to present its inaugural gallery artist group show, JOURNEY, featuring all new works donated by local contemporary artists to benefit art, music, and science programs in Encinitas and South Carlsbad public schools.
Held at Linksoul Lab (530 South Coast Hwy in Oceanside), JOURNEY will run from April 21, 2018 – April 23rd 2018 with an opening reception Saturday, April 21st from 6-8:30 p.m. and VIP reception 4-6pm. The exhibition will also feature a interactive screen printing station. Donated works include pieces by nine established contemporary artists, Jay Bell, Allison Renshaw, Fiona Bechtler-Levin, Cheryl Sorg, Taylor Chapin, Erick Perez, John Finkbiner, and Jesse Kerr.
The artworks are JOURNEY inspired pieces that explore unconventional painting techniques and collages, in other words- they are about the artist's process. For the majority of artists, their use of color is often explosive and playful, expressing their own versatility, skill, and dynamic vision. For example, Jay Bell’s "The Rising," whirls and twirls in seas of vibrant color as organic color blocks of overlapping mountains become more intense conveying a sense of both hope and struggle.
The Encinitas Education Foundation (EEF) assists in the achievement and maintenance of a superior public school education within the Encinitas Union School District (EUSD).
The foundation solicits and receive contributions from public and private donors and makes regular contributions to the Encinitas Union School District for developing, conducting, and financing existing and future programs like Visual and Performing Arts, Science, Technology, World Language, Wellness and Environmental programs and projects designed to create World-Ready citizens.
